Houston takes high spots in site visitors congestion, Texas A&M College says


HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — For those who assume Houston site visitors is unhealthy, there’s now information to show it. The Texas A&M Transportation Institute not too long ago launched its record of High 100 Congested Highway Segments within the state.

The Houston metro is dwelling to seven of the ten most congested corridors in Texas.

1. West Loop from I-10 Katy to the Southwest Freeway

2. Eastex freeway from SH-288 to I-10

3. Woodall Rodgers freeway from US-75 to North Beckley Avenue

4. Southwest freeway from the West Loop to SH-288

5. North Loop from I-45 North to I-10 Katy

6. I-10 Katy from the West Loop to I-45

7. I-45 Gulf freeway from I-10 to the South Loop

8. I-45 from SH-183 to I-30

9. I-35 from US-290 to SH-71

10. I-10 from I-45 to US-59

US-59 took among the high spots, and Texas A&M Transportation Institute researcher David Schrank says development on different corridors is admittedly placing strain on US-59, often known as I-69.

“A number of of the corridors that often have a reasonably good quantity of delay on them, additionally added the start of development, a few of them for the NHHIP work that is developing,” says Schrank. “It could be simply engaged on form of spot therapies, not the entire hall but, however there are a few of these issues happening, so it begins affecting the I-69 hall.”
